ADAMSVILLE, AL - A suspect has been arrested after deputies say he had a rolling meth lab inside his vehicle.

Sheriff’s deputies said driver 48-year-old Gary Scott Denny of Empire was pulled over for a routine traffic violation near the BP Gas Station on Highway 78 in Adamsville.

Denny was found to have an outstanding misdemeanor warrant with the city of Adamsville, and deputies found prescription pills in his pocket. Investigators say the he was acting nervous and eventually confessed he had ingredients to make methamphetamine inside the car.

Deputies believe the suspect had recently cooked a batch of meth, but he was not in the process of cooking at the time he was pulled over. Three bottles with remnants of previous "cooks" were found inside the car.

Denny was charged with unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled bustand and possession of drug paraphernalia. He's being held at the Jefferson County Jail in lieu of $76,000 bond. Once he's released, he'll be turned over to Adamsville Police.
