AUBURN, AL -
Professional golfer and Auburn alum Jason Dufner has turned into a pop culture icon.
First, he brought us "Dufner-ing", that went viral on social media.
Now, the latest addition to his family is also causing people to take an interest in the Dufner's.
"Just look at his face," Jason's wife, Amanda, said. "He just looks like a Louis to us."
That would be Prince Louie.
He's the prized pup that belongs to the Dufner's. During his owner's tournament in Auburn, the Prince gets run of the course, something that's normally not allowed.
"He travels with us, he can't come on the golf course," Amanda said. "He does go on the road with us and stays in the hotel and waits for us to get back."
"He's a good little companion," Jason said. "A lot of free time out there for my wife, when I'm playing proam's and doing practice rounds."
Prince Louie is ninth months old, but soon after the couple got the puppy, jason won the 2013 PGA Championship.
And then a picture of the puppy in the Wanamaker Trophymelted the heart of America.
"I don't know how all that happened, but probably winning the PGA and throwing him in the trophy," Jason said. "It got a lot of hits on Twitter and Instagram. People kind of ran with it. He's got an instagram account and a Twitter account. It's pretty hilarious, we don't know who's behind it."
Since that time, Jason shows off his dog in pictures on Twitter. While more photos pop up on Prince Louie's very own social media accounts.
But is Prince Louie's sudden fame boosting the little guys ego?
"The only people he gives a fuss with is me," Jason said. "I think he knows I'm trying to run the house, he's trying to run the house. We have our disagreements, but he's a pretty good dog for the most part."
