Harris County teacher arrested for drug dealing

Posted: Updated:
The Harris County Sheriff's Office has arrested a local teacher for allegedly distributing drugs from her home, the sheriff's department says. Claudia Bray, her son Colton Stevens and his acquaintance Clayton Smith were arrested at Bray's home Tuesday

Authorities say they had received tips and complaints from neighbors and others about teenagers being allowed to drink alcohol, smoke and distribute marijuana and party at the residence of the high school teacher.

On Tuesday, investigators stopped a vehicle leaving the home for traffic violations, the sheriff's department says. Inside the car, officials found an undisclosed amount of marijuana.

The initial investigation in to the source of the drugs lead authorities back to Bray's home, according to the sheriff's department. At the home, Harris County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Presley detected a strong smell of marijuana and was able to search the home.

Inside the home, authorities found an undisclosed amount of marijuana and two pistols. Investigators say they believe Bray was fully aware of the drugs inside her home and they think she even willfully allowed the activity to take place.

Bray, Stevens and Smith were arrested. Bray was charged with Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and Possession of drug related objects. Stevens was charged with Distribution of marijuana, Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, Use of a communication device in a felony drug transaction, and Possession of drug related objects. Smith was charged with Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and Possession of drug related objects.

All three have been released on bond.
