D.J. Fluker on Yahoo allegations

Posted: Updated:
ALABASTER, AL - Former Alabama offensive tackle D.J. Fluker was at Dick's Sporting Goods in Alabaster today for an autograph signing. He just completed his first season in the NFL with the San Diego Chargers.

Fluker's name was mentioned quite a bit in September of last year.

Yahoo Sports reported Fluker took impermissible benefits before the completion of his collegiate career. The report says former Alabama player Luther Davis was acting as an intermediary for sports agents and financial advisers.

Fluker has still not commented publicly about these allegations. I spoke with Fluker today about the Yahoo report.

"Right now, I don't have a comment for that," Fluker said. "Alabama is dealing with the ordeal."

Fluker acknowledged he's been dealing with Bama's compliance department and, "It's been good so far."

When asked if he thinks he did anything wrong, Fluker said, "I have no comment for that either."

CBS Sports reported last weekend Mississippi State has been cleared in the Luther Davis probe. The Bulldogs, along with Alabama and Tennessee, were mentioned in the Yahoo report.

As for a decision on the Tide and the Vols when it comes to Davis, CBS Sports reported back in January it did not appear the NCAA was investigating the case at that time and the NCAA could not find Davis.
