BIRMINGHAM, AL - A 24 year-old Birmingham man has died from his injuries after a shooting that happened May 7 in the 200 block of 16th Place Southwest.

The victim has been identified as Jeffery Hines of Birmingham.

The victim’s brother told police Hines was standing on a porch at the location in an attempt to check on his child when a shot was fired out of the front door of the residence.

Hines was hit in the head and taken to the hospital in a personal vehicle.

He was pronounced dead the next day.

So far, no arrests or charges have been announced in the case.
