Huntsville mother arrested for attempted murder on Mother's Day after 3-month-old stabbed

HUNTSVILLE, AL - A Huntsville woman was arrested Sunday after her 3-month-old child was stabbed Saturday night. 

Police say they responded to a home in the 3900 block of Neptune Drive around 10:45 p.m. Saturday, where the found a 3-month-old baby who had suffered multiple stab wounds. 

The baby was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, and was later transported to Children's of Alabama in Birmingham. 

The mother, 31-year-old Natasha Townsend, was arrested Sunday and charged with attempted murder. Neighbors say the home where the mother and baby were found was a relative's home.
