Family, friends and  community leaders will gather this afternoon for a viewing scheduled for Birmingham Police Officer Keary Hollis.

Officer Hollis was shot and killed Saturday night at Avenue Y and Bush Boulevard. He was off-duty at the time.

Investigators say it happened during an argument between Hollis and the shooting suspect Patrick Johnson.

Johnson has since been charged with capital murder in case.

Today’s viewing is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Arrington Funeral Home on Cotton Avenue.

A funeral service is scheduled for tomorrow  at 11:00 a.m. at the Greater New Antioch Baptist Church in Ensley.

The burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.

Officer Hollis was a five-year veteran of the police force and father of four.
