BESSEMER, AL -

The organization, "Cutters for Christ," is doing the work of God and helping people clean up damage from the April 28 tornadoes.

Today, the group is working in Bessemer. Crews have already lent their services in Kimberly.

In Bessemer, the storm has damaged several houses and knocked down trees and power lines in the city.

"Some of the hardest hit areas included the Timberline West Apartments, Memorial Drive, Thomas Acres and sections Old Jonesboro," according to the city.

The Bessemer Fire Department estimates the storm track at four miles. The storm apparently first touched down in the area of the Frank House Municipal Golf Course and followed a path which took it into the city's Southside neighborhoods.

Cutters for Christ is chopping down trees along 21st Street in Bessemer.

Organizer Bob Thompson says the words "thank you" are the only payment the workers need.
