HARRIS COUNTY, Ga. - The search continues for fugitive Heath Holloway, who is considered armed and dangerous. Holloway is wanted for attempted murder in Phenix City, an assault in Lee County that left three kids injured and most recently a high speed car chase in Harris County.

A Harris County Sheriff's Deputy pulled over a Gold Ford Explorer at a Chevron gas station on Highway 315 last Friday. The Deputy had noticed that the car had not stopped at a stop sign while driving on Highway 315. When the Deputy got out of the car to approach the vehicle, the Explorer sped off. The car led Deputies on a chase through oncoming traffic on I-185. Authorities say Holloway was driving and woman was in the passenger’s seat.

Deputies lost the car after it turned onto a gravel road, but eventually found the unoccupied vehicle after it crashed through a fence and got stuck in a hunting area on private property. Authorities searched the vehicle and said they found a gun that had been stolen from a Columbus home and a large amount of methamphetamine.

Harris County Sheriff Mike Jolley tells News 3 they set up a perimeter and searched the area with their K9 unit, but did not find Holloway.

“He's indicated that he doesn't want to go back to jail and he'll do whatever it takes to stay out,” said Jolley.

A few hours later – they found the woman who had been riding in the car with Holloway. Authorities say Jenny Thompson was walking on the interstate, not far from where the car was found. She told authorities she did not know where Holloway had gone.

“We're asking everyone to be on the lookout for him,” said Jolley. “We consider him armed and dangerous.”

Thompson told authorities she was staying at a motel in Pine Mountain with Holloway. Authorities found another stolen gun, about $3000 in cash, marijuana and tools for making meth inside their motel room.

Jolley says surveillance video later showed Holloway getting gas for a reported stolen 4-wheeler in Hamilton on Saturday. Officials believe he's now either still in Harris County or somewhere in Columbus.

In May, Holloway escaped a pursuit with Lee County Sheriff's Deputies after someone spotted him following a shooting Phenix City. During that pursuit, authorities say Holloway crashed into another car and ran off into the woods. Deputies were unable to find Holloway and three children were injured in the crash.

Authorities request that if you see Holloway or know of his whereabouts, call 911 immediately.
