BIRMINGHAM, AL - A late night fire damaged three homes in the Ensley community Thursday.

Firefighters were called to the first home located at 1811 31st Street just before 10:30. When they arrived at the vacant home, the fire was showing through the roof.

The blaze then spread to two nearby homes located at 1825 and 1809 31st Street.

Fire investigators say the first home was destroyed. The second home suffered about 20 percent smoke and fire damage, and the third home suffered about 75 percent damage.

The home with 20 percent damage was the only occupied residence. However, no one was injured.

The initial cause of the fire is still being investigated.
