Family and friends have held a funeral for the Georgia toddler who died in a hot SUV as his father remains in jail on murder and child cruelty charges.

The ceremony for Cooper Harris was held in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on Saturday.

Justin Ross Harris called the ceremony from the Cobb County Jail in Marietta, Georgia, where he is being held without bond. Using a speaker phone, Harris emotionally thanked people for their support since the 22-month-old's death on June 18.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the boy's mother, Leanna Harris, said she is not angry called Harris a great father

Harris has told police he drove to work that morning, forgetting the boy was in the back seat. Authorities have said the facts don't point toward simple negligence.
