COLUMBUS, Ga. -

Power has been restored to midtown Columbus after a Georgia Power equipment failure Monday afternoon, a company spokesperson confirms to WRBL News 3.

Over 500 Georgia Power customers were without electricity after a break blew around 2:15p et. The problem could not be fixed remotely and service was restored just before 3p after a crew made repairs.

Numerous Columbus Police Department officers directed traffic after traffic lights along 13th Street and Veterans Parkways went out.
