Hoover Police: "Zero Tolerance" for speeding after recent fatalities

Posted: Updated:
HOOVER, AL - Hoover Police are increasing patrols along the I-459 and I-65 corridors due to recent fatalities on area interstates.

The Department announced a “Zero Tolerance Policy” that is now in effect throughout the area to reduce speeding and increase safety. Warning signs are alerting drivers to slow down through that part of the interstate, which is currently a major construction zone. Heavy traffic is also expected this week as the Fourth of July weekend approaches.

Four people died in three different crashes last week in Hoover.

Hoover Police are reminding motorists to wear seatbelts, slow down, stay alert, and to not text and drive.
