JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL - The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two suspects involved in an overnight robbery of a convenience store.

The incident happened just after midnight at the Minit Man convenience store located in the 2300 block of Eastern Valley Road. Investigators say two suspects armed with handguns walked in the store and demanded money.

A clerk and a customer were inside the store at the time. The suspects demanded money from both of them. Authorities say the customer threw his money and the floor and shouted “that’s all I got.” One of the suspects then shot the customer in the upper leg.

The other suspect grabbed some money from the cash register and both ran away on foot. Sheriff’s deputies searched the area surrounding the store. However, the suspects remain on the loose.

The suspects have been described as 22- to 23-year-old males. Both are estimated to be 5’9” with one weighing around 185 pounds and the other weighing around 160 pounds.

The shooting victim is a 27 year-old man from California. He was taken to the hospital. Authorities say his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
