There have been multiple fatalities on I-459.  The Alabama Department of Transportation is deciding if it can do something to prevent them.

ALDOT is in the beginning stages of reviewing the fatal accidents on I-459. Many factors will play a role in whether the state decides to make changes.

Brian Davis, an ALDOT Engineer said,  "We'll be looking at the accident reports and finding out exactly what happened. Was it driver error fault in any of the accidents? If so, could anything have been done to reduce the severity of the accidents."

There is no definite answer on how long it will take to review the accidents and when any potential findings could be released.
