After conducting several interviews, investigators learned that the victim and suspect were involved in a verbal altercation earlier that day. The suspect then returned to the home later where the two exchanged words again. Authorities say that’s when the shooting happened.

The suspect has been identified as Alquan Cortex Patton. Patton turned himself in Thursday night. He’s been charged with attempted murder and is being held on a $60,000 bond.

Officials have not released an update on the victim's condition.
