Some customers at a Starbucks coffee shop in Vestavia Hills got quite a shock, when a car rammed into the business.

The Vestavia Hills Police Department reports the incident happened just after 12:00 p.m. at the Starbucks on Highway 31 at the City Center.

The VHPD says an elderly driver accidentally accelerated into the front of the building, crashing into an area where customers were sitting.

The vehicle went straight in a glass wall.

Two patrons were hurt, and the driver also suffered injuries.

Luckily, the three people sustained only minor injuries.

The car crash left a hole of at least 10 feet across, by 10 feet high.

Repair crews arrived during the afternoon to start fixing up the affected area.

The store appeared to be closed, to allow the crews space to work.

There’s no word on when the Starbucks will be fully repaired.
