Two more college football watch lists were released Tuesday.
The Mackey Award is given to the best collegiate tight end in the country. Auburn senior C.J. Uzomah is on the list after catching 11 passes for 154 yards and three touchdowns in 2013, including the game-winner against Mississippi State.
Georgia junior Jay Rome is also on the watch list. He did not find the end zone last season, but did catch nine passes for 99 yards, and figures to have an increased role in 2014 with the departure of Arthur Lynch.
One of the youngest guys on the list is Alabama sophomore O.J. Howard. He caught 14 passes for 259 yards and touchdowns last season, and also figures to see more time with Brookstone’s Brian Vogler graduated.
Also released on Tuesday, the list for the Rimington Trophy, given to the best college center in the country.
Georgia stalwart David Andrews is on the list for his senior year. He started every game last season and was a four-time captain.
Perennial Rimington watch list member Reese Dismukes from Auburn is on the list again. He was a finalist for the award in 2013.
Alabama’s Ryan Kelly, a redshirt junior, is on the list, trying to bounce back from an injury-riddled 2013. He was an SEC All-Freshman performer as a redshirt in 2012.
