Massive school of anchovies swarm off San Diego coast

SAN DIEGO -

A massive school of anchovies was caught on video off the coast of  La Jolla in San Diego Tuesday, creating a spectacular sight.

NBC San Diego reported that the video was captured by the Scripps Institution of Oceanography.

NBC San Diego reported that Scripps scientists said they haven’t seen an aggregation like this in more than 30 years. Scientists are unclear why the large school moved into shallow waters off the coast.
