Reward offered in Durham home invasion case

Posted: Updated:
DURHAM, N.C. -

Durham CrimeStoppers are offering a reward for information that leads to arrests in connection with a June home invasion.

The crime occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. on June 15 on Lynn Road near Holloway Street, police said.

One of the victims told police that he was outside the house when he was approached by several males armed with guns. He was forced into the house and at that point, the suspects forced several other people in the home to remove their pants and empty their pockets.

The suspects took phones and an Xbox from the victims. At least 10 people were in the house when the robbery occurred. Two of the occupants were pistol whipped and taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.

The suspects were heard to say during the incident that they were at the wrong house, according to investigators.

There were three to four suspects involved in the robbery. One suspect was described as a black male, 5 feet 3 inches to 5 feet 4 inches tall with a goatee. A second suspect was described as a black male approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall with dreadlocks and bushy eyebrows.

The suspects possibly left in a blue 4-door vehicle, according to investigators.

Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator R. Mbuthia at (919) 560-4281, ext. 29119 or CrimeStoppers at (919) 683-1200.
