    Angela McCall was killed. The suspect, 25-year-old Sylvester Taylor, is charged with manslaughter involving a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident with injuries.

A suspected home burglar was shot and injured, allegedly by the suspect’s intended victim.

The incident happened about 11:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of 60th Street in Ensley. The Birmingham Police Department says a suspect was in the process of breaking into the house, with the homeowner still inside.

The homeowner had possession of a weapon, and allegedly shot the suspect, while committing the crime. It’s unclear whether the homeowner owned a weapon, or whether the suspect was armed.

The suspect was transported to UAB Hospital, and is expected to recover.

The homeowner was reportedly emotionally shaken up by the incident, but was not physically injured.

Police investigators are be conducting interviews as the investigation continues.
