Raleigh police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a subject in photos taken inside Club Bodi the night Vernon Oneal Jones was killed.

Police said the person in the photos could give information to aid the investigation into Jones’ death.

Raleigh police described the subject as a black male wearing a red shirt with a dark diagonal line with an insignia on it.

On June 3, 26-year-old Jones, of Lillington, was shot multiple times in a parking lot at the corner of West Hargett and South West streets, a couple blocks from Club Bodi. Jones was transported to WakeMed where he later died from his injuries.

Police say Jones is suspected of having left Club Bodi following a "disturbance" at the club shortly before the victim was located.

Anyone who believes they may recognize the subject or who has other information that might assist detectives should call Raleigh CrimeStoppers at (919) 834-HELP or visit www.raleighcrimestoppers.org for text and email reporting options.
