Today is the 31st Annual “National Night Out Against Crime and Drug Prevention.”

Since 1984, law enforcement agencies across the nation have hosted the event that promotes neighborhood camaraderie and involvement in crime preventing activities. Often, police officers and sheriff’s deputies will spend time meeting with residents in the areas they serve to both offer advice and receive feedback on keeping the community safe.

Below is a list of local National Night Out events.

Hoover: The Grove Shopping Center 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Jefferson County: Sylvan Springs Town Hall 6-8:00p.m.; Center Point Satellite Courthouse 6-9p.m.; Target in McCalla 6-8p.m.
