WHISPERING PINES, N.C. -

A motorcycle driver was airlifted to Chapel Hill Thursday morning after an SUV turned in front of him in Whispering Pines.

Officials say the driver of the SUV was turning onto Airport Road from Queens Cove Way when the vehicle collided with the motorcycle around 6 a.m. Thursday.

The driver of the motorcycle was airlifted to UNC with "fairly serious injuries," officials said.
